Charles Franklin “Charlie” Malone, age 80, of Clarksville, passed away, Sunday May 30, 2021, at his residence. Charlie was born, December 19, 1940, in Ripley, Tennessee to Charles David and Dovie Cheek Malone. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Sarah Carter Malone on January 19, 2016, and an infant daughter, Rachel Ann Malone. Charlie was a very kind hearted person and if you were sick, he was always the first one to call and check on you. He attended Union University and was a 1962 graduate of the John A. Gupton School of Mortuary Science. He moved his family to Texarkana, Texas where he joined Texarkana Funeral Home in the late 1960’s. Charlie also worked for Madden Funeral Home in Ashdown, Arkansas. His last move was to Clarksville, Texas where he retired after almost 30 years as a Mortician for Clarksville Funeral Home. Charlie served on the Clarksville City Council and was Mayor Pro-Tem. He was a member and Elder at the First Presbyterian Church in Clarksville.
Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2021, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. James Brown officiating. Graveside services are to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Texarkana, Arkansas. Services are under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends an hour before service time at Clarksville Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Speed Malone of Clarksville; sons, David Malone and wife, Karen of Rochester, Minnesota and Robert Ballard and wife, Sonya of Paris; daughters, Tresa Stinson and husband, Keith of Mt. Vernon, Sheila Rock and husband, Ed of Paris, Mechelle Godsey and husband, Richard of Paris and Paula Ballard of Paris, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
