Charles McLendon Obituary

Charles Everett “Chuck” McLendon, age 58, of Clarksville, passed away, Sunday, February 13, 2022, at Titus Regional Medical Center. Chuck was born, April 16, 1963, in Clarksville to Charles Ray and Rita Harvey McLendon. Chuck grew up on the family farm and ranch and worked with the family business, Harvey Brothers. He was a 1981 graduate of Clarksville High School and was active in football and FFA. Chuck attended Tarleton State University and later earned his electrical license at Texarkana College and went on to work for Humphrey and Associates. He also was deployed overseas to Iraq where he worked as an electrician. Chuck was a Bible Scholar and member of the McKenzie Memorial United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday school. Chuck loved dancing, hunting and fishing on the Red River and playing 42 dominoes. His favorite place on earth and where he eventually became an owner was the Buckeye Hunting Club. If you knew Chuck you will always remember his boisterous and infectious laugh! He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Ray.

Graveside services are set for 1:30 PM, Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Mike Rowe officiating.  Services are under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to services at the cemetery.

Honorary Pallbearers are Ted Garrison, Larry Garrison, Trey Puckett, Jeff Augustus, Michael Witmer, Rusty Coward, Doc Barham, Mike Galvin, Nick Baird, Boyd Harvey, Darrell Peek, Michael Humphrey, Wayne Johnson, Ben Chandler, Jayson Benson and Lee Cross.

Survivors include his mother, Rita McLendon of Clarksville; sons, Ethan McLendon and Orrin McLendon and wife, Victoria and his grandsons, Blake and Luke; sisters, Kim McLendon Wilson and husband, Rick and Trich McLendon Booth; niece, Shelby Galvin; nephews, Cole Dodd and son, Jenson; Tanner Galvin and wife, Kendall and Brody Moyer; first cousins, Chris Harvey and family, Greta Townes and family, Matt Colbert and family and Vicki Colbert and family and a multitude of other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Red River County Public Library, P.O. Box 508, Clarksville, Texas 75426.
