Charlene Abbott Potter

Charlene Abbott Potter, age 88, of Detroit, passed away Friday, October 3, 2025.

Charlene was born in Pattonville, Texas, to Bill and Tina Hatch Abbott. She had a deep love for her family, especially her grandchildren, and cherished spending time with them. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and looked forward each year to “girls week” with her granddaughters, creating lasting memories together.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Potter; two sons, David and Gregg Potter; and her brother, Stanley Abbott.

Survivors include her three sons, Tony Potter and wife Kim of Detroit, Jeff Potter and wife Debby of Conroe, and Dean Potter and wife Tish of Willis; her sister, Norma Jean Dixon and husband Glen of Detroit; nine grandchildren, Chrissy, Toni, Jaymee, Angie, Shelby, Justin, Colby, Dana, and Lindsey; her beloved cat, Smarty; as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Detroit Cemetery with Roy Cannaday officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
