Carrie married her high school sweetheart, Phillip Pfeil, on October 15, 1976, at the age of 18. She attended Thomas Jefferson High School in Dallas, Texas. She was a longtime resident of Dallas and Celina. Most recently, she made her home in Avery, Texas, where she enjoyed watching hummingbirds, raising chickens, and the deer that lived in her backyard forest. Also passing before her was her husband, Phillip Pfeil; her grandson, Eddie Lemont Pfeil; her father-in-law, Lincoln Page Pfeil; her mother-in-law, Bonice Louise Hamrick Pfeil Besaw; and her brother-in-law, Lincoln Dwayne Pfeil.

Carrie is survived by her daughters, Shanna Marie McIntire of Joshua, Texas, and Catherine Leigh Daugherty and husband Steve of Brazil, Indiana. Also surviving is her identical twin sister, Connie Jane Kennedy Pfeil, of Avery, Texas, and her brothers, Mark Ashton and wife Paula of Dallas, Texas, and Neal Ashton of Waco, Texas. She leaves behind grandchildren: Destiny Ann Walters, Michael Antonio Rios, Jonathan Esquio Rios, Cassie Marie Inbody, Zachary Isaiah Rios, Sydney Marie McIntire, and Dylon Ray McIntire; thirteen precious great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and brothers-in-law Kenneth Pfeil and wife Terry of Houston, Texas, and Michael Pfeil and wife Donna of Forney, Texas.
