Bobby Ward gained his wings on February 20, 2024. He was born June 9, 1955, in Sulphur Springs, Texas to Joe Baily and Audie Inez Purser.
He is survived by his daughter, Jamie Davis and husband, Brian of Texarkana, Arkansas; 2 granddaughters, Ashley Davis and Brianna Davis; his stepson, Gene Boss of Austin, Texas; 2 sisters, Ann Guthrie and husband, Bill of Fouke, Arkansas and Naoma Roark of Clarksville, Texas and 2 brothers, Robby Ward of Hooks, Texas and Donald Ward of Clarksville, Texas.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; 4 sisters, Inez Shockome, Nell Stratton, Zarita Ward and Karen Rowzee and 3 brothers, Nelson Ward, Kenneth Ward and Paul Ward.
He served in the United States Army from August 24, 1972 - May 24, 1976. Also, a tour of duty in Germany.
Bobby loved his God, his family and music. The majority of songs he shared in church with specials were written by him. Bobby also sang in the church choir and with the Hopewells, a local group.
A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Farmer and Rev. Nathan Simmons officiating.
