Billy Joe Green, Sr., age 77, of the Albion Community, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, May 16, 2025.
Billy was born on February 12, 1948, in Clarksville, Texas, to Clarence and Marie McClure Green. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Billy was best known for his love of the outdoors and his strong work ethic. He spent more than 50 years as a truck driver and retired from Combine Transport. When he wasn’t on the road, he found joy in hunting, fishing, and simply being outside.
Billy cherished his family above all, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He and his beloved wife, Mary Caywood Green, shared 48 years of marriage, building a close-knit and loving family together. He was of the Baptist faith and lived a life full of love, loyalty, and quiet strength.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Pepper Lynn; two brothers; a brother-in-law; a sister; and four great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Green of Albion; his son, Billy Joe Green, Jr. and wife, Sandi of Dierks, Arkansas; four daughters: Jullie Duffey and husband, Keith of Nashville, Arkansas; Krissi Cabler and husband, Anthony of Clarksville; Anglea Wortham of Idabel, Oklahoma; and Audrey Green of Clarksville; eight sisters; three brothers; thirteen grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; his beloved dog, Rowdy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Clarksville Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Neal Seaborn officiating. Burial will follow at Albion Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers are: Tony Jones, Floyd Jones, Richard Jones, Allen Hines, Noah Peters and Jacob Green. Honorary Pallbearers are: Jimmy Bastible and David Green.
