Billy Don Carson, age 73, of Clarksville, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Texoma Medical Center of Denison.
Billy was born January 1, 1951, in Matador, Texas to Buddy and Bonnie Ferrier Carson. Billy married Debra Joyner on January 29, 1972, and they spent 52 wonderful years together. He worked for International Paper for 38 years as a forest technician. Billy served in the United States Army as crew chief during the Vietnam War. His service to his country meant a lot to him, Billy donated every month to Tunnel to Towers. Billy was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing. He lived a great life and loved his family and friends. His father, Buddy Carson and brother, Donald Wayne Carson preceded him in death.
Memorial services are set for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Hopewell Baptist Church with Bro. Nathan Simmons and Bro. Don Shovan officiating. Services are under the direction of Clarksville Funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Joyner Carson of Clarksville; his son, Kasey Carson and wife, Elissa of Clarksville; 2 brothers, Joe Paul Carson and wife, Joanne of Norman, Oklahoma and Tim Carson and wife, Patricia of Savanna, Oklahoma; 2 grandchildren, Elexis Carson of Lubbock and Kagen Carson of Clarksville; his uncle, James Carson; his aunt, Joyce Finney of Texarkana; special friends, Jim and Carla Caldwell his faithful companions, Clyde, Sawyer and Rocco; special cousin Sue Fletcher and numerous nieces nephews and cousins.
