Billie Joyce Owens

Billie Owens, age 93, of Detroit, passed away, Monday, December 16, 2024.  Mrs. Owens was born, January 4, 1931, in Rising Star to Arthur and Gladys Carpenter Foley.  She married Charles Franklin Owens on September 12, 1952.  He preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death are a grandson, Cody Don Davidson, three brothers and one sister.  Mrs. Owens was employed by the City of Detroit for many years.  She attended the Lone Star Church and First Baptist Church, Detroit where she was the proud director of the Children's Bible Drill.  Mrs. Owens also was a faithful volunteer for the Detroit Food Pantry. 

Survivors include two sons, David Owens and wife, Sarena of Tyler and Bill Owens of Longview; two daughters, Marsha Romines and husband, Garry of Mt. Vernon and Annette Davidson of Paris; five grandchildren, Jill Kinsley and husband, Daniel, Cory Owens and wife, Alexis, Jamie Coats, Julie Mitchell and husband, Paul and Brian Romines and wife, Elissa, thirteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. 

Funeral services are 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 21, 2024, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Don Shovan officiating.  Burial will follow in Detroit Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends an hour before service time at Clarksville Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Cory Owens, Brian Romines, Daniel Kinsley, Paul Mitchell, Kyle Shovan, Brandon Shelby and Brett Shelby.
