Beverly Pylant

Saturday evening, January 21, 2023, Beverly Mae Pylant, devoted wife, and loving mother or four children, died at the age of 93.  Bev was the daughter of Marvin and Flaurie Jones Phillips. She was born September 20, 1929, in Gladewater.  She married her lifelong love, William Herbert (Hoover) Pylant and enjoyed 73 years of marriage.  Together, they raised four children; Kris and wife, Marty Pylant of Karnack, Martha and husband, Terry Giddens also of Karnack, and Mary and husband, Britt Holley of Clarksville; grandchildren are Sara and husband, Eric Shaw, Molly Pylant, Blair and husband, Marshall McGuire, Brianne and husband, William Oney, Brent and wife, Brooke Giddens, Meagan and husband, Jeff Card, Brad and wife, Ashley Holley; step grandchildren are Nita Bartlett and Brian McIntyre.  Bev was adored by 15 great grandchildren and cherished by many special nieces and nephews.

Bev was an intelligent, kind- hearted person that loved the great outdoors.  Whether gardening, cattle ranching, traveling, crafting, or fishing, she was in her element.  There wasn’t anything she couldn’t do to perfection.  Perhaps her work history of turkey ranching with her father as a child, to working at Sanger Harris in downtown Dallas. She then handled financial books in many businesses, including the 7-11 Store in Clarksville.   She loved the Lord and served him through many facets during her life.  She was a long-standing member of the First Baptist Church, one might find her teaching Bible school, Sunday school, singing in the choir or raising money for a new church facility.  Her passion was to lead others to the glories of heaven and understand how forgiveness for one’s sins was so easy through His word.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; and beloved son, Alan Dale Pylant.

Memorial services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 28, 2023, at the First Baptist Church of Clarksville, Texas with Reverend Mark Gossett officiating.  Visitation will be the hour preceding the service. Services are under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

The family would like to extend a great depth of appreciation and love to the staff of Focused Care in Clarksville for the heartfelt care throughout the years.
