Barbara Jane Baker, 66, of Avery, formerly of Longview, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at her residence. She is the daughter of the late John C. Baker and Frances W. Baker of Longview. Jane was preceded in death by her father, and her husband, Everett A. Latham. She is survived by her daughter Nikole of Longview, granddaughter K.C., of Avery, sister Jeannie and husband Gary Harper of Corpus Christi, and brothers John and Jim of Longview. Jane also leaves behind her special friend David Switzer of Avery and childhood best friend and caregiver, Lynne Benedict of Longview.
Jane was a 1977 graduate of Hallsville High School and proud member of the Bobcat Band where she was an award-winning clarinet player and majorette, including head majorette her senior year. Jane was an accomplished photographer. Her passion was stop-action photography where she had a gift for photographing drag racing events. Jane was also a talented seamstress and crafter. She had a beautiful smile and vibrant personality. Everyone who knew Jane loved her and she will be greatly missed
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 10, 2026, at New Summerfield Cemetery, in Gregg County on Tryon Road under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Lee Berger will officiate.
