Arthur F. (Buddy) Langston of Clarksville passed away Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020, at his home after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.
Mr. Langston was born Aug. 30, 1932, in Tupelo, Miss., a son of App and Arvella Carroll Langston. He married Marveline Robbins Taylor on Aug. 11, 1979. After graduation from Fulbright High School, he joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Alaska. When his military hitch ended he began working for the Texas Department of Transportation. After a number of years he left the highway department to purchase the Clarksville 7-Eleven, and later owned and operated Buddy's Food Store. He became a surveyor and worked for Hammett Surveying. Mr. Langston returned to the highway department and retired after a 25-year career. After retiring he worked several years for Gist Enterprises. He was a long-time member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 27, 2020, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Black officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Daniell, Eric Daniell. Emily Moose, James Daniell, Jason Meredith and Sammy Puckett. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marveline Langston of Clarksville; his children, Sherrie Langston Hardin of Bogata; Rick Langston of Tacoma, Wa.; Lorie Baird and husband Rickey of Boxelder; Clay Langston of Federal Way, Wa., and; Gina Langston and husband Rocky Brown of Clarksville; his grandchildren, Nathan Daniell of Clarksville; Eric Daniell and wife Heather of Prosper; Emily Moose of Clarksville, and; Norah Langston of Auburn, Wa.; and great-grandchildren, Jace Faulkner, Aspyn Daniell, Eli Daniell, Fallon Daniell, Mila Puckett and Eero Daniell.
The family wishes to thank hospice nurse Jamie McNeely and Stacy for the care they provided.
