Anita Jo (Holt) Fox

Anita Jo Holt Fox, went to be with her Lord and Savior on  Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at her residence.  Anita was born, August 30, 1962, in Clarksville to Robert and Nina Jo Bivins Holt.  She came into the world the same way she left, surrounded by family who loved her.  Anita graduated from Rivercrest High School in 1980 and went on to attend Paris Junior College for a time before starting her 28 year career at East Texas Medical Center.  Her professional career continued on as she worked for Woodland Ag until her death.  She had many co-workers who became like family during their time working together.  Professionally she was known for her hard work, determination and reliability.  Anita was born and raised in the Maple/Cuthand Community where she was a lifelong member of Cuthand Church.  She was dearly loved by her church family and they showed that in the abundance of love and support they gave her in her final days, for which her family is beyond thankful.  Anita was a self-proclaimed Tomboy and would rather be in nature than in a dress.  She spent many years hunting squirrels, catching fish and raising horses.  She loved her hobbies and they brought her joy, but nothing compared to the joy she found in being Aunt Nita.  She never had children of her own, but her nieces and nephews filled her days with fun and happiness.  She spoiled them and they adored her.  Anita Jo was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Bill and Susie Bivins, her paternal  grandparents, R.J and Etta Holt, nephew, Hayden Holt and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is survived by her parents, Robert and Nina Jo Holt of Cuthand; brother, Harold Holt and wife, Judy of Cuthand; aunt, Johnnie Jones, aunt, Nancy Holt; niece , Heather Shumake and husband, Bo, along with their children, Eli, Ashtyn, Korra and Kylin; nephew, Heath Holt and wife, Anna, along with their children, Landon, Jeremiah, Addie Jo and soon to be born, Robert William “Robbie” Holt.

Funeral services are set for 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 5, 2024, at Cuthand Church with Rev. John Purviance and Rev. Don Shovan officiating.  Burial will follow in Cuthand Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends an hour before service time at Cuthand Church.

Pallbearers are Heath Holt, Bo Shumake, Jeffery Bivins, James Wesley Landers, Brandon Peek and Bubba Ervin.

Honorary Pallbearers are, Tim Shimpock, Dewayne Martin, Bud Calloway, Rickey Gibson and Samuel Gentry.
