Albert Evans

Albert Evans, age 88, of Avery, passed away, Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at his residence.

Albert was born June 2, 1934, to Albert E. Evans and Dorris Goldenbaum. Albert spent 22 years in the Navy and served in both Korea and Vietnam. He has many medals, a medal for wintering in Antarctica, a purple heart and bronze star. He served in the Sheriffs departments in Buffalo, New York and Albuquerque, New Mexico. He also was an Umpire, he loved all 3 professions. Preceding him in death are his parents and 2 sons, Michael Evans and John Evans.

Albert is survived his wife, Nancy Evans of Avery; 4 sons, Jason Kolb of Avery, Brian Kolb of Avery, Raymond Meister of Annona and Johnny Guernsey of Sanford, North Carolina; 5 daughters, Brandy Meister of Annona, Erica Kolb of Avery, Tracy Guernsey of Sanford North Carolina, Sherry Evans of Buffalo and New York Dani Heineman of Buffalo, New York; his recently adopted daughter, Angela Collins; 6 grandchildren, Natalie, Amber, Joshua, Angie, Devan, Christa; 11 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

There will be a family and friends gathering at the Evans residence from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday, December 11, 2022.
