James Meredith

James Meredith, age 86, of Clarksville, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at his residence.  He was born, July 5, 1933, in Red River County to George Dolf and Ethel Dale Meredith.  James was retired after 39 years with the Texas Department of Transportation.  He also served in the National Guard.  His wife, Barbara Whiteman Meredith; granddaughter, Morgan Meredith; brothers, Nolan, Norman and Orvil Meredith; and his sister, Betty Westfall all preceded him in death.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2020, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. John Purviance officiating.  Burial will follow in Madras Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. 

The family will receive friends an hour before service time at Clarksville Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Damon Ussrey, James Allen Ward, Ryan Hammett, Scott King, David Jackson, Paul Allen and Rick Bachman.

Survivors include two sons, Michael Meredith and wife, Tina of Clarksville and Jason Meredith and wife, Kelly of Clarksville; grandchildren, Amos Meredith, Audra “Sissy” Meredith, Ethan Meredith and Preston Arballo; great grandchildren, Randel, Luke, James Cameron, James Drake and Aspyn.
