John W. Somerville
John W. Somerville, age 82 of Bagwell, passed away, Monday, August 25, 2008 in Regency Nursing Center.
Mr. Somerville was born on May 8, 1926 in Detroit, to Henry Chambers and Rosalie Hart Somerville. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He retired from UARCO in Paris and was of the Methodist faith.
Two brothers and two sisters precede him in death.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Bro. Karl Bush and Bro. James Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Catonville Cemetery in Detroit under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife who he married on May 5, 1951 in Vallejo, CA, Elza Connie Somerville of Bagwell; son Tim and Marcelle Somerville of Detroit; daughter, Pam Pellett of Bagwell; grandchildren, Robbielynne Todd and husband Jeremy, Lisa Ibarra and husband Jesus, Dori Logsdon and husband Casey, Becky Pellett and Sheila Pellett; great-grandchildren, Tanner Middleton, Lexi Cooper and Jason Todd; sisters, Ann Novey of Mesquite, Rose Geers of Whitewright, Martha Grace Gooding of Clarksville, Lucy Jones of El Paso and Raejenne Moore of Bagwell.
Pallbearers are George and Richard Somerville, Jimmy Novey, Alan Helberg, Mickey and Rickey Vickers.
Visitation will be Wednesday night from 6 to 8 at Clarksville Funeral Home.
