Emma Jackson

Rachel Emma Jackson, 85, of Avery, Texas died Thursday, April
17, 2008 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Jackson was born to Charlie and Dessie Beasley Fox September 9, 1922, in
the Pine Springs Community outside of Avery. She was retired from Red River Army
Depot, a homemaker, and a member of the Avery United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Athcal Jackson, one daughter and son-in-law,
Kathy and Henry Freeman of Avery, one son and daughter-in-law, Blake and Nancy
Jackson of Avery; one sister, Charlene Brothers of Houston, Texas, two brothers,
Anderson “Doll” Fox of Avery and Buddy Fox of New Boston; two grandsons, Michael
Jackson of Avery and Brent Jackson of Avery; four great-grandchildren, Tyler,
Jace, Logan and Kendall Jackson; and a number of other relatives. She was preceded
in death by two sisters, Ovie Jackson and Julia Buchanan, and two brothers, Oscar
Fox and Ottis Fox.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday April 20th at the United Methodist Church in
Avery with the Rev. Gary McCain officiating. Burial will be in Avery Cemetery
under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Avery Cemetery Pavilion Fund,
P. O. Box 268, Avery, TX 75554.
