Dr.
Edward Gaines McCulloch

Dr. Edward Gaines McCulloch, age 56, of Lake Charles, La.
Died Wednesday, April 2, 2008 in Dallas, Texas. A private memorial service is
set for 10 a.m., Saturday,
April 12, 2008, at his cabin with Rev. James Brown officiating. Services are
under
the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, at the Clarksville
County Club House.
Dr. McCulloch was born in Clarksville on May 27, 1951, the son of Gaines and
Evelyn
McCulloch, he was the grandson of the late Kate and Nate McColloch and Edith
and
Sidney Hall.
He was a graduate of LaGrange High School, Lake Charles, La. And pre-med student
at
McNease State University in Lake Charles and LSU in Baton Rouge, La. He was
a
Graduate of LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans, La., specializing in Emergency
Medicine. He practiced medicine in Lake Charles most of his career. He also
served as an Examiner for the American Board of Emergency Medical Physicians
from time to time.
His sunny disposition and ready smile will be missed by his family and many
friends,
patients and colleagues. His interests and hobbies included volunteer work at
Calcasieu
Community Clinic, Animal Shelters, Shelters for battered women and abused children.
He especially loved fishing and hunting with his beloved son and father. He
enjoyed
many happy and joyful times with his family and friends at his North Lake cabin.
Survivors include his parents of Clarksville, his loving wife,
Sunny Gail McCulloch of
Lake Charles, La. One son, Paul McCulloch of Austin, Tx. One daughter and husband,
Leah and Josh Griffin of Austin, Tx. Granddaughter, Aiden Evelyn Griffin of
Austin, Tx. One sister and husband, Joanna McCulloch and John Dewey of Dallas,
Tx. and
three step daughters of Lake Charles, La.
