Patrick J. Coughran
Patrick J. “Big Pat” Coughran, age 66 of Avery, died Sunday, February 24 in
Regency Nursing Center.
He was born in Shopshire England on February 1, 1942 the son of B.H. and Peggy
Allman Coughran. He was retired from China Lake Navel Weapons Center, and served
in the U.S. Navy and Civil Service for over 31 years. “Big Pat” enjoyed his
life and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dottie Brady Coughran, and a son, John
Henry Coughran.
Survivors include his parents, B.H. and Peggy Coughran of Grand Prairie; two
sons, Pat Coughran and wife Kimberly of Avery, Michael Coughran and wife Beth
of Avery; grandchildren, Courtney, Kendra, Seth, Price, and Alexis; a sister,
Diane Letterman of Garland.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, February 27 at 2:00 p.m. in Avery Cemetery
with the Rev. H.D. Lambert officiating. Arrangements are under the direction
of Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Rickey Wooten, Tony Foster, Carrol
Foster, Richard Hunt, Slack Taylor, Marvin Alexander. Honorary Pallbearers are
Bailey Cruce, James Dickerson, Johnny Hall, Neil Puckett, Donald Gaines, William
Smith, Mike Tharp, Melvin Runyan, and Freddie Booker. Visitation will be Tuesday
night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Clarksville Funeral Home.
