Virginia Louise Allen Franklin
Virginia Louise Allen Franklin, age 82 of Clarksville, died
Wednesday, February 20, 2008 in Clarksville Nursing Center.
She was born February 11, 1926, in Red River County to Claude and Mary Leta Brown
Gaines. She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church, a retired Nurse’s Aid,
and a loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gordon Phillip Allen, Sr; a son,
Gordon Phillip Allen, Jr; her 2nd husband, Charles Franklin; and 2 brothers.
Survivors include her son, Gary D. Allen and wife Joy of Trenton, Texas; 2 daughters,
Diann Allen Arnold and husband Jack of San Antonio, Tammy Allen Martin and husband
Don of Clarksville; sisters, Christine Healy of Clarksville, Ruby Faye Stringer
of Clarksville; brother Billy Gaines of Bogata, Texas; eight grandchildren; and
five great-grandchildren.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 23 in Lindeman Chapel
of Clarksville Funeral Home, with the Reverend Mark Gossett officiating. Visitation
is Friday night from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow
in Lanes Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
