Larry Spangler, 61, of Detroit, Texas passed away Saturday February 09, 2008
at his residence. Larry was the Chief Deputy for Red River County.
Services are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 12 in Lindeman Chapel
of Clarksville Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Shovan officiating. Burial follows
in Detroit Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family
will receive friends Monday night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are, Tim Shimpock, Bob Edrington, Jerry Conway, Terry Reed, Shawn
Roden, Kevin Gray, Josef Hausler and Corkey Whitley.
Mr. Spangler was born September 12, 1946, in Clarksville, the son of Martha Landers.
He loved NASCAR, his grandchildren, a member of the Detroit 1st Baptist Church,
and served in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Dibble,
a brother, Kenneth Landers, and grandparents, D.F. and Ora Spangler.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Bullock Spangler of Detroit. They were married
on December 4, 1964. 4 sons, Kenneth Spangler of Paris, Keith Spangler and
wife Terry of Paris, Kyle Spangler and wife Shawna of Ben Franklin, TX, and Kris
Spangler and wife Natalie of Denton, TX; sisters, Glenda Fulton of Hope, AR,
Dorothy Fisher of Yantis, TX; brothers, Gary Landers of Shreveport, LA, Jerry
Spangler of Powderly, TX, Danny Landers of Winfield, TX, and Bennie Landers of
Paris; 9 grandchildren.
