W.W. Alley
W.W. Alley, age 71 of Detroit, Texas, died Wednesday, January 30, 2008, in
Clarksville Nursing Center. Mr. Alley was born November 28, 1936, in Delta County,
Texas. His parents were John D. and Leone Sandlin Alley. He was a retired
Rural Mail Carrier with over 29 years of service, a member of Bennett Lodge #
531, a member of the Detroit First Baptist Church, and was an avid animal lover
who would feed the animals around town and on his mail route.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Deviney Alley of Detroit, Texas; one son,
Wesley Alley and wife Karla of Detroit, Texas; one daughter, Dawana Gill of Mineral
Wells, Texas; two step-daughters, Melody Stone and Dedra Taylor; grandchildren,
Tracy, Tony, Carlton, Megan, Desirae, and Zackary; one brother, John Alley and
wife Evelyn of Detroit, Texas; one brother-in-law, Charles (Pete) Deviney and
wife Cheryl.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, at Detroit Cemetery with the Rev.
Bill Draper officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Clarksville Funeral
Home.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, at Clarksville Funeral Home.
