Annie Matzke
Annie Matzke, 87 of Clarksville, Texas, died Tuesday, January 29, 2008 in
ETMC Clarksville. Mrs. Matzke was born March 12, 1920, in San Antonio, Texas.
Her parents were Eligio and Cayentana Gomez. She was a member of the St. Joseph
Catholic Church, loved sewing and animals. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Robert Matzke; two brothers, Albert and Tony Gomez; two sisters, Lillian
Rangel and Inez Dangler; one son-in-law, Bill Collvin.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Robert S. and Lee Matzke of Denver,
Colorado; one daughter, Charlotte Collvin; three sisters, Catherine Broughton
of Wisconsin, Elaine Kercher of Wisconsin and Elizabeth Prince of Wisconsin.;
one brother, Joe Gomez of Wisconsin.; four granddaughters; 6 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be 1:00 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church
with Father Jose Lobaton officiating. Burial will be in Ft. Sam Houston National
Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Rosary will
be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family
request memorials be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 500 E. Broadway,
Clarksville, Texas 75426.
