Alvena Puckett Beers
Alvena Puckett Beers, age 88, of Clarksville, Texas, died January 18, 2008, at Regency Nursing Center, Clarksville, Texas. She was born on September 25, 1919, in Spur, Texas, to O.E. and Maggie Batey Puckett. Mrs. Beers was a homemaker and a member of the Eastside Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by; her parents, her husband Guy Beers, and two brothers.
Mrs. Beers is survived by: her sons, Larry Beers and wife Lorene of Avery and Doyle Beers of Clarksville; her sister, Alma Glover of Groves, Texas; her brother, James Puckett of LaMarque, Texas; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Sunday, January 20, 2:00 p.m. at Eastside Church of Christ with Bill Whiteman, David Ingram and Jack Dodson officiating. Pallbearers include: Jimmy Brookshire, Jeff Augustus, Gerald Holder, Charles Ward, Jim Trammel, and James Bills. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
