Odessa Isbell, age 89 of Clarksville, Texas died January 15, 2008, at Springlake
Assisted Living Facility, Paris, Texas. She was born on March 8, 1918 in the
Minter Community of Lamar County. Her parents were Homer and Lula Hensley Solomon.
Mrs. Isbell taught school for 40 years throughout Red River County. She was
preceded in death by her husband Bob Isbell, brother, Travis Solomon, 2 sisters;
Lois Westrbrook, and Allene Barham.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, January 17, at 2:00pm in Lindeman Chapel of
Clarksville Funeral Home, with the Rev. James Brown officiating. Visitation
will be from 1:00pm until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers are;
Sammy, Don, and Michael Humphrey, Jim Lee, Jerry Conway, Bruce Emery, James E.
Meals, Jr. and Billy Don Minter. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery, under the
direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Survivors include 1 sister; Ethyleene Earley of Columbia, MO. 5 nephews; James
Barham of Clarksville, TX, Brent Earley of Dallas, TX, Doyle Solomon of Dallas,
TX, and Larry Earley of Columbia, MO. And James David Isbell of Dekalb, TX. 6
nieces; Ouida Humphrey of Clarksville, TX, Louise Vann of Texarkana, Carolyn
Smith of Columbia, MO, Cathy Whidden of Vivian, LA, Teresa Ferguson of Vivian
LA, and Brenda Williams of Dallas, TX. Sister’s-In-Law; Virginia Shell of Dallas,
TX, and Billie Stovall of Vivian, LA.
The family appreciates the care given
to Mrs. Isbell, by the staff of Springlake Assisted Living, and Mayes Hospice
in Paris, TX.
