Obituary:
Nillie Ernestine Anderson, age 85, of Avery, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2012, at Reunion Plaza SNF in Texarkana.

Mrs. Anderson was born October 31, 1926, in Avery to Ernest Wilton and Nillie Meadows Bellotte. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Avery. She married Melvin Anderson on March 12, 1946. She was preceeded in death by a son, Allen Anderson.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 13, 2012, at the First Baptist Church in Avery with Rev. Michael Churchill and Rev. Harold Churchill officiating. Burial will follow in Avery Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Ed Stephenson, Rickey Burleson, Ronnie Brower, Joe Bearden, Vernon Eastepp and Jimmy Brookshire.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.

Survivors include her husband, Melvin of the home; 1 son, Jerry Anderson of Blossom; 1 daughter, Karon Lisemby of Lubbock; 1 sister, Dorothy Towsend of Alabama; 2 brothers, Leo Bellotte of Shreveport, Louisiana; 6 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.

I am so sorry about Ms. Anderson. I did not learn of her in time to make it to the funeral or I would have been there. She had a lovely alto voice that I first heard with as a teen, I was visiting Karon and she was singing along with the TV. Karon had such a lovely soprano voice that i wish I had heard them sing together. I know she endured much pain with her bad hips and it is somewhat conforting to know that she now has a body free from all the pain and imperfections of earthly life. My prayers are with the rest of the family.
