Norman Cawthon - age: 81
(July 17, 1929 to July 06, 2011 ) Resident of Detroit, Texas Visitation Information: The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 3 to 5 at the funeral home. Obituary: Norman Cawthon, Sr., age 81, of Detroit, Texas, died July 6, 2011, at Clarksville Nursing Center. Mr. Cawthon was born July 17, 1929, in North Little Rock, Arkansas, to John Amos and Iva Ruth Cawthon. He was an avid horseman, motorcycle enthusiast and also a former stockcar driver. Mr. Cawthon was a Marine Veteran of the Korean War. He married Frances Fogleman on August 28, 1954, in Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John Amos, Jr.; and a sister, Clara Bell Maupin. East Texas Patriot Guard Riders will escort the processional to the Detroit Cemetery where graveside services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2011, with Ed Yost officiating. Burial follows under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife Frances Cawthon of Detroit; one son, Norman Cawthon, Jr. of Paris; one daughter, Donna Lydia and husband Lorenza of Allen; one grandson, Adam Cawthon; and one brother Bobby Cawthon of Anahuac. |
