Obituary:
Melba Pearl Phillips Alvarez, age 56, of Clarksville, passed away, Saturday February 26, 2011, at Clarksville Nursing Center.

She was born September 3, 1954 to Clarence Edward and Thelma Olean Phillips.

Survivors include a son, Brandon Phillips of Clarksville; a daughter Brittney Phillips of Clarksville; and two brothers, Shady Phillips of Gordonville and Clarence Phillips of Atlanta, Georgia.

Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at Madras Cemetery with Rev. Bob Posey officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

Melba was a sweet friend! Her faith and love for the Lord were an inspiration to me. She fought a good fight and kept the faith, and now she is with Jesus.
